Riga Festival: public transport and parking services will be for free on August 15 and 16
"Rīgas satiksme" reminds that on August 15 and 16 (Saturday and Sunday) Riga residents and guests will be able to use public transport (buses, trams and trolleybuses) free of charge, except minibuses, night transport and the Retro-tram. Parking services at parking lots operated by "Rīgas satiksme" will be also for free during Riga Festival, except the underground parking lot at K.Valdemāra 5a near the House of Congresses, where parking will have to be paid for according to the existing tariffs.
Due to the festive events to be held on Lucavsala, on Saturday, August 15, and Sunday, August 16, bus No. 40 will stop and let passengers get on/off at stop „Lucavsala” on the way to Ziepniekkalns.
Tram No. 11 will run on August 15 and 16 according to a temporary schedule to carry Riga residents and guests to Mežaparks and Riga Zoo. On August 16, before and after the concert of rock-group BI-2, there will be extra runs on tram route No. 11 according to the passenger flow. See the temporary schedule here.
In the nights of August 15/16 and August 16/17 traffic on some public transport routes will be organised until 1:00 AM from the city centre so as to cover as many city districts as possible and ensure the transportation of passengers after festive events. There will be additional runs on bus routes No. 3, 11, combined 12/23/26 (runs across Akmens Bridge), 18, 24, 25, 37, 40, 50, 51 and 53, trolleybus routes No. 9, 14, 15, 17, 18, 22 and 27, and tram routes No. 4, 5, 6, 7, 10 and 11. On August 15 and 16 minibuses will run according to the Saturday, Sunday and holiday schedule. Night traffic will be organised in the nights of Friday/Saturday and Saturday/Sunday. We remind that minibus and night transport servicers will be for pay.
